Diversity on Deck is a non-profit organization that empowers African American children and youth to participate in aquatic activities by creating affordable and accessible opportunities. Diversity on Deck raises awareness of the historical impacts of racism, generational trauma and lack of representation that negatively impacts the relationship between Black communities and the aquatics. They aim to confront the biases and stereotypes that have led to negative internalized ideologies in order to open the door to countless aquatics related opportunities such as competitive sports, scholarships, jobs and careers, and build positive representation in aquatic spaces.
