Hi! My name is Olivia Kendall and I am a graphic designer based in the DC/Maryland area. I graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor's of Arts in Studio Art with a Concentration in Graphic Design and Art History Minor. I specialize in branding and brand expression and have worked closely on branding projects for clients ranging from law firms, to dentists, to clothing companies.

My journey to becoming a graphic designer is a bit unconventional. I was accepted into the University of Maryland, and completed my first semester there, as a chemical engineering student. I truly enjoyed the design and innovation aspects of engineering, but felt creatively stifled by the technical aspects. I moved away from engineering and began studying the Design Thinking Process, where I found my passion for user-centric design. I rediscovered my passion for art and was inspired to pursue a career where I could do what I love, which has always been being creative. I was accepted into the Graphic Design program at UMD and found my calling. I began working as an intern at a marketing agency and had my first experiences working directly with clients.

My journey to graphic design can be characterized by finding my passions: rediscovering my love for art and finding my passion for design, following them: taking a risk to pursue something I am truly
passionate about, and using what I learned along the way to excel in my current and future endeavors: using my engineering and STEM background to approach graphic design in a unique way.
